Terms of Service
I (Client) agree to pay Ballarat Computer Solutions (BCS) to repair, analyse and troubleshoot my computer system at the rates agreed.

Minimum charge is $33.00 inc GST. I will be billed as outlined in the latest rates, viewable on the BCS Website .

Payment is due prior to the remote call, unless other arrangements are made.

Payment may be made using a credit card either by phoning us or by using the PayPal buttons on this website prior to the support call.

Cash is welcome for in-house or home visits only.

Billing starts at the time BCS connects to your computer. Missed/cancelled appointments will be billed for the minimum charge of $33.00 if not cancelled within 24 hours.

Although BCS will endeavour to conduct all activities in a timely manner, I understand that troubleshooting issues may be a time-consuming process and agree to pay BCS for troubleshooting time as necessary. If BCS is requested to conduct further research on a specific issue, I will not be billed for research time off-site, but will be billed for research time while on-site or connected to my computer/s. BCS reserves the right to recommend another IT company if the troubleshooting requires the assistance of another IT company to assist. I will contract with the other IT company separately.

BCS will install any free programs that I grant permission/ask them to install, and understand that some free programs may not work on all computer systems. If a free program is installed and has on-going issues it will be uninstalled.  Continued free support on the product will not be provided. Regular billing rates apply.

I also certify that I will indemnify and hold harmless BCS for any and all data or software that may be lost or erased, as well as for any consequence of the erasure or loss of that data or software. Although BCS will take every precaution to preserve all data and software on the computer, I acknowledge that occasionally data loss will occur and/or software operation may be compromised. If I require training in backup methods and procedures, BCS will provide that training to me at an additional rate of $66.00 per hour. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless BCS for any and all hardware or software malfunctions or accidents that may occur before, during or after work is performed on my computer, and for any results thereof.

Virus Removals: I also certify that I will indemnify and hold harmless and will pay for added support to BCS for any software repairs necessary after a virus has been detected and removed off a computer. Viruses in a computer can cause many problems, BCS cannot control what or how the virus affected the computer before our removal.

Our Commitment to You

We have a 7 day guarantee on our virus/malware removals. If within 7 days you suspect you have an instance returning, please call us immediately. If after 7 days and you have a returned infection, we will discuss what AV products you use or have purchased and decide on the best level of support. There is no guarantee or warranty that a virus will not get through any product either purchased from us or any other product, free or purchased.

Confidentiality Agreement: Any private information stored on your computer or viewed by our computer repair technicians during a remote support call will be held confidential unless required by law. Due to the requirements of the repair, if requested by you, we will back up your data to insure itís integrity at an extra cost of $44.00. This is done to ensure that you have all the files you need when a computer is repaired. During this process, the data is backed up to the your computer or external hard drive. We do not back up the data on BCS servers. Any private or personal information provided to BCS will be kept confidential.

Virus Removal Information: Required to be read by all clients asking for virus removals

We offer a 7 day guarantee on our removals.

If within 7 days you see a virus return, please call us immediately.

If you see an infection after 7 days, please call us immediately and we will not charge a full $99, but we will make a charge of $49 to continue to remove the latest virus.

Software destroyed by a virus is not repairable under the $99 virus removal fee. Any software in need of repair will be billed at our normal rates.

Some Viruses delete and/or corrupt files and are sometimes beyond repair.

There is no guarantee or warranty that a virus will never get through any security product wherever it may have been purchased.

Please download and install the updates when asked to, if you need assistance updating to a newer version we can help you for free.

Please make sure that you see the little yellow ladybird icon (SuperAntiSpyware) in the right hand corner of your screen,this means that you are protected.

Microsoft Security Essentials is not a purchased product but a free product that Microsoft makes available for download to Windows computers.

We do not provide any free support on free products. If you are having issues with Microsoft Security Essentials, we recommend you speak to Microsoft or remove the program and get another free or paid antivirus program.

Notes about viruses!

Viruses are released on a daily basis.

The security product is only as effective as it's last update.

There may be a window of time that a virus can get into your computer.

We cannot control how fast the product vendors release their updates.
